Dierct Debit Contingency Service

Why have contingency?

Unfortunately, things do go wrong, we have all lost our Internet connection at some point, hard drives fail, smart cards can be lost or damaged and your BACS software can fail.

BACS recommend that all direct submitter's have a contingency plan!

Financial transactions are a sensitive area. What do you do when you are unable to collect money for cash flow purposes or pay your staff and suppliers? There is no need to panic, if you have a contingency contract in-place we can process your BACS files with minimum disruption.

How does it work?

As part of the set-up process, Secure Collections bureau number is linked to your service user number, which allows us to submit files to BACS on your behalf. We perform periodic, full structured testing of your files, to ensure we can import your data formats into our BACS software.

Contingency files can be hand delivered, encrypted and emailed or transmitted via secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) using our FTP servers or yours. We also provide a security and authorisation protocol to be followed when contingency is required.

What does it cost?

There is a nominal set-up charge, annual support fee and a processing cost for the test files and any files which are submitted in a contingency scenario. Please contact us today for a BACS Contingency quote and peace of mind for a modest cost.

Who are our BACS contingency clients?

Secure Collections provide BACS contingency services to Government Bodies, Local Authorities, Universities & Colleges, other direct debit bureau’s and private companies. Contingency references are available to prospective clients.
